Artist and Researcher in Residence at LEGO
For 3 months I was a researcher and artist in residence at The Capital of Children as part of the LEGO Foundation in Billund, Denmark. My main responsibilities were to conduct research into how to communicate LEGO Foundation’s research findings on Learning Through Play in an accessible and engaging format through art. In other words, how to communicate the LEGO Foundations ‘Learning Through Play’ science through playing and through the creative arts? As part of my research, I visited over 20 schools, museums, and galleries all over Denmark as well as in London, conducted over 30 interviews with play experts, artists and museum directors. I also gave some talks, workshops, played some games, and worked with a school group in designing a treasure hunt in the LEGO house for the adults. The results of the research informed future projects that were dedicated to sharing the research through an exhibition.
